Its Trump's Fault

Whenever Possible, Blame Trump

It has been fashionable since Al Gore lost the election to blame everything on global warming. If there was a crop failure in the Congo, it must be due to global warming. I actually read an article that blamed the red beetle infestation in Montana’s forests on global warming. The term “Global Warming” has fallen out of favor. Governor Inslee prefers the term “Climate Change”, and decided the recent wild fires that ravaged Eastern Washington to be “Climate Change” fires. Global warming was once thought to be due to cow flatus, but is now thought to result from carbon emissions. The President won’t ban fracking and has made America independent of foreign oil, thus, global warming and wild fires are his fault. If the Liberals can blame the President for changes in the world’s climate, they can blame him for everything. I didn’t say it made any sense. It makes no more sense than blaming him for violent protests in Seattle and Portland, or blaming him for the attack on the Governor of Michigan, or blaming him for COVID19. Whatever is wrong must be Trump’s fault.

President Trump is an outspoken advocate for law and order. He is critical of mayors who have allowed anarchy to reign in their streets. When he supports the idea that police are supposed to enforce the law, he is accused of being opposed to peaceful protests. The liberals have been successful in blaming Donald Trump for any and all violence. Again, I didn’t say it made sense.

There was a plot last week by a white supremist group to take over the Michigan State government and assassinate the Governor. Governor Whitmer blamed the President on national television. She claimed he refused to denounce the white supremist group, “Proud Boys”, during the presidential debate, and his refusal was a clarion call to violence. First, the plot to take over Michigan was planned several weeks before the debate. Second, the Governor’s use of her emergency powers to restrict individual freedoms was discovered to be the motivation behind the plot. Third, Trump did not refuse to denounce “Proud Boys” or any other supremist group. Governor Whitmer obviously did not read the transcript of the debate. Another case of misreporting. If the opposition doesn’t have the facts, they are free to make up their own.

During the debates for president, vice president, and governor; Trump was repeatedly blamed for the pandemic. I guess it happened on his watch, so I can understand where the Democrats can assign responsibility for all bad things that happen during his presidency. Trump is actually no more at fault for the pandemic than FRD was for causing World War II. The virus, however, came from China. Whether or not China tried to keep the rest of the world uniformed is another question, but it certainly originated in the city of Wuhan. It did in fact happen on Trump’s watch but it happened on Governor Inslee’s watch as well. The first confirmed cases and first confirmed death attributed to the Corona Virus happened in Inslee’s state. Yet, he blames Trump. He began blaming the President early on, first for not sending enough federal help, then for not letting the Governor make his own decisions. Governor Inslee also has accused the President of playing politics with the pandemic. I find it ironic that the Governor eased some of his mandated restrictions one day prior to the gubernatorial debate. I also find it ironic that he allowed larger public gatherings even though the rate of new COVID19 cases is over ten times what it was when he originally mandated the restrictions. Nothing makes sense.

President Trump has done a lot of things wrong, but he is not to blame for the pandemic, climate change, nor for violence in the streets.
