We’re Being Lied To

I’m not sure where to start. Our elected officials at both federal and state level lie to us. It has gotten so bad that we tend to ignore them. When we do that, however, we surrender both government and country to the elected elite.

I’ll start with Dr. Fauci. He has lied to us from day one, and our President continues to support him. Dr Fauci decided shortly after the beginning of the pandemic that the COVID-19 virus was transmitted from bats directly to humans in China and spread from there. That sounds interesting, but there is no evidence to support his claim. I read an article on Tuesday that kind of supported him, but the best they could come up with after several months study was to decide their findings were inconclusive. The evidence does, however, support the theory that the virus escaped from a World Health sponsored laboratory in Wuhan China. There is no evidence that bats transmitted the disease to humans, but Dr. Fauci continues to promote his theory. He lied to us and continues the lie.

Both our current President and our Governor claim wearing masks and social distancing protect us from spreading the virus. Look at the evidence. Those states with strict lockdowns and mask mandates experienced the same rate of infection as those without mandates. Officials around the country predicted the Sturgis motorcycle rally would create a spike in the number of cases. Spokane’s Spokesman Review even printed an editorial claiming thousands of new cases due to the event. The paper had to retract their editorial when it was discovered they were using fabricated numbers. A half-million enthusiasts partied in Sturgis, mostly without masks, with no more impact on the spread of the virus than those who stayed home and hid under their beds. Wearing masks, social distancing, and closing businesses had no effect on the virus. On the other hand, the measures did destroy our economy. We were lied to and the lies continue.

Liberals within the Washington State Legislature tell us that an income tax is more fair than a sales tax. This is a lie. In come tax, however, is easier for politicians to manipulate to their own advantage. The voters turned down an income tax ten times, but liberal legislators keep trying. This past session they passed a tax on capital gains, claiming it was not an income tax. This is a lie. Proponents of an income tax claim this tax will only affect the super-rich. This is a lie. It will grow just as the federal income tax has grown until it affects al income from all sources. Advocates of the new tax claim it is absolutely essential to fund the state government, and invoked a rarely used provision to prohibit any voter input. This is a lie. State government was fully funded without the tax. It is an additional tax, not warranted by the economics of the state. The Governor lobbied hard for this new tax, and lied to us at every turn.

A little over 60% of eligible Washington State citizens have been vaccinated against COVID19. The government has lied to us to the point that over a third of the state’s population doesn’t believe the official claims. We have been lied to until a third of our citizens have no confidence in neither the safety nor the effectiveness of the vaccine. They would rather take their chances with the virus.

We have been lied to so much that government no longer has any credibility. We are ruled by the elected elite who feel no obligation to be truthful with the people they are supposed to serve.
